Pittsburg-born Molly Gunther creates work that equally juxtaposes human life and nature. Her creations see human life at par with nature, not above it. Similar to nature, Gunther sees life as a cycle of war, birth, growth, and death. She expresses this philosophy using traditional landscape imagery and uses painting as an important medium as it allows her to drip, pool, glide her brush to get through seemingly impenetrable walls of opacity.
She received her B.A. at Sarah Lawrence College and her M.F.A. at Parsons School of Design. She had a Solo Show at Brown University’s Sarah Doyle Gallery and Scope NY at the Saatchi Online Booth.
